Recall on Iverhart Plus heartworm meds expanded

Virbac has expanded its recall of Iverhart Plus Flavored Chewables, citing that several lots were below Ivermectin potency levels prior to their expiration date. These products may not fully protect dogs in the upper third of each weight range against heartworms. This recall is an expansion of one issued in April for the same product. This recall does not affect Iverhart Max products. According to Virbac, tests showed that 14 lots of the product were below Ivermectin potency levels before the expiration date. However, another 17 lots tested within specification, but are still being recalled as a precautionary measure. At this time, no adverse reactions or illnesses have been reported.
