Catswell brand cat food recalled over propylene glycol contamination

Arthur Dogswell is voluntarily recalling 1,050 cartons of Catswell brand VitaKitty Chicken Breast with Flaxseed and Vitamins due to possible propylene glycol contamination. Propylene glycol may lead to anemia and oxidative cell damage, though no illnesses have been reported yet. The contaminant was identified during routine FDA testing. The VitaKitty treats were distributed nationwide via retail stores and mail order from April 13 through June 14, 2012. This product is packaged in a re-sealable 2 ounce orange plastic bag with a clear window. The lot codes affected are:

  • SEW12CH032701/03c with a best before date of 09/10/13
  • SEW12CH032702/03cÊwith a best before date of 09/11/13
