Veterinary Medicine: The Whitest of them All?

The veterinary profession has historically been the least diverse field in the United States—a trend that endures even in 2020. Why do black people make up such a small fraction of the veterinary workforce (no more then 3 percent at any given time!), and what can we do to change centuries of racism and discrimination?

In the second installment of Fully Vetted’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Veterinary Medicine Series, Dr. Mia Cary joins us to break down how anyone in the veterinary profession—from individual practitioners all the way up to national leaders—can effect real, measurable change.
